Please keep in mind that the Christmas illuminations are a big thing for both locals and non-locals. Expect to weave your way through the heavy traffic of spectators (and their selfie sticks). You’ll probably be fine on weekday nights, though, so consider visiting before this Friday or after January 1 as the events run until the end of the first week of 2020.
1. Start off a Pre-X’mas at Sukhothai
Well, if you’re coming to Thailand on a long holiday. We suggest you hop off to Sukhothai a bit earlier in November when the traditional Loy Krathong Festival is held! Here, you will get to see all the dazzling light just at the heart of the Sukhothai Historical Park. Your end of year celebration cannot be even more dreamy!

2. The Dazzling Celebration and around
If you ask a Bangkokian for the best places to visit in Bangkok Christmas, CentralWorld will surely be the first answer from most people. Every year the plaza in front of the shopping mall is turned into a dreamy fairytale town reminiscent of a Disney theme park. To welcome 2024, the internationally-renowned Argentinian artist Javier Gonzalez Burgos designed cute Christmas installments that can move! Which means not only photo ops, but also video ops. Visit CentralWorld and see for yourself!
CentralWorld isn’t the only illuminated mall in Ratchaprasong area. Don’t forget to check out the Christmas lights at Amarin Plaza and Gaysorn Village.

3. Let’s Celebrate 2023: The Holidays Bring Me Here
Santa Claus is featured in many Christmas illuminations around the world, but Santa Claus at Central Embassy and Central Chidlom is a very special one. Standing at the height of 10 meters, this is Southeast Asia’s tallest Santa Claus balloon. In fact, the two shopping malls have adopted a Santa-centric theme this year. Other highlights include Thailand’s tallest Christmas tree, the Interactive Christmas Tunnel and the Snow Maker on the 1st floor of Central Chidlom. The festival there ends on January 14, so you can join the other events first if you want.

4. Winter Wonderland the Grand Celebration
The cutest of all, last year the event at EmQuartier and Emporium has been drawing in a lot of visitors thanks to the 12-meter-tall polar bear and friends. You gotta capture ‘em all with your camera! The white winter wonderland can also go colorful with the 3D projection mapping. We believe it will even be more extra this year!
